Santiago on the Camino

Saint James is with each pilgrim on the Camino, all along the Way. He has many representations that we recorded with our cameras. He is in one statue, a pilgrim with his staff and a gourd filled with water. In another he appears on a gorgeous white stallion, sword in hand as the “Moor Slayer” sent from God to overcome the invading Moors who had come to take over Spain. The scallop shell is everywhere in these vignettes.

Here’s our small collection we encountered on our Camino journey of Santiago in Art.
