Camino Day Six- Estella to Los Arcos (14.1 Miles)

We left Estella at 7:35. Good early start….we climbed out of town immediately. As we did our research online we saw two attraction we passed on the early walk today. The Wine Fountain at Bodegas Irache and the Blacksmith in Ayegui. Unfortunately the free spigot of wine did not work at 8 am. But the ironworker Blacksmith did not disappoint. Beautiful items and the man himself and his son, the apprentice, took care of us. Needless to say we will be shipping home some steel pieces at our next stop in Logrono.

Then it was a long walk to Los Arcos. We had a lovely stop in Villamayor de Monjardin with one Americano and one Cafe con Leche and we were on our way to Los Arcos, 12 kilometers or 2.5 hours away.

We powered on and got to town early at 1:15. Done for the day. Whew!

Our bodies are sore, especially our feet. A few small blisters but the pain is just how much we have ponded the feet….they are tender.

We have a long hike tomorrow, like 16 miles, but then we get a day off in Logrono.

Buen Camino.
