Camino Day Eleven- Santo Domingo de la Calzada to Belorado (14.2 Miles)
Tough tough day for John. Bad blisters on the front pads of both feet make it really hard to walk rocky trails. So John complained most of the day and walked rather slow with everyone passing us, which is not our norm.
First town we hit was Granon and the church was open, Church of Saint John the Baptist. You would think we would get bored with the churches, but that is anything but the case. Each is amazing architecture with ornate interiors and are in really good shape. None are in a deteriorating state and all have a presence to them with the spirits of all the previous pilgrims. These gorgeous houses of prayer are also still used by the local parishioners for their worship during the week. Each one we enter provides us with a spiritual moment.
We limped into Belorado even though it was a shorter hike than normal, took showers, did laundry, and took care of John’s feet. Dinner was salad with a hamburger.

Sorry to hear about the blisters. That’s gotta be tough.
Is pilgrim John planning to sport a beard from now on so as to look the part?
Hope feet are healing cannot imagine how uncomfortable it has been. Lots of love xxx
