Camino Day Thirty-Five- Portomarin to Palas de Rei (17.0 Miles)
We are getting close. This morning we have four walks to get to Santiago.
Unbelievable!
In the morning we still bandage a couple of toes, pack it all up, and have breakfast- one Americano and one Cafe Con Leche.
We walk and John marks our path on the Camino. We look for yellow arrows. We follow fellow pilgrims of which there are many. We stop into the churches large and small and thank the volunteers who are there to hold the church open for pilgrims, stamping credentials. Chris lights candles.
It’s incredible what we’ve asked our bodies to do. And our bodies have stepped up. We have so much gratitude for our strong feet and legs. Chris for her Hokas and John for his Salomon boots.
There is so much history and glory here and we are trying to absorb it. When we get home, there will be more to learn about the places we have walked through.
The Camino Surprise today was the thunder and rain we had as we walked to dinner- beautiful! But so thankful it was a quick storm in the evening, and not during the day on our walk.
Three more walks remain tomorrow- but tomorrow is a long one: 30 kilometers or about 19 miles. Look out Santiago- here we come!!!!!!

Keep putting one step in front of the other…there’s the lesson! So proud of you guys!
