Camino Day Nineteen- Carrion de los Condes to Calzadilla de los Cueda (10.5 Miles)
It was a very difficult day for us today. We had the utmost awful news on the day we started the Camino, our beautiful nephew had lost his battle to cancer and had left this world that morning. Today was his Life Celebration back in Woodinville and it broke our hearts that we could not be there. It did please us so that all three of our children would attend and provide the Hayduk passion to the celebration. Rest in peace our dear Ryan, we will miss you forever and will always have you in our hearts.
The physical walk today was easy, very short, just over 10 miles. We were happy to be done before noon, checked into our room, and could just contemplate. We are in an extremely small town and life seems simple here. In reality life is not simple anywhere.

I know it was a very hard day for you! Ryan’s memorial was perfect for Ryan. There were lots of family and friends in attendance. Many lovely tributes were given. He was so beloved to so many. Love you
So saddened to hear of Ryan’s passing, I know your prayers on the Camino lifted him up “on Eagle’s Wings.” Re: dinner — did you have the ham and cheese or the cheese and ham. Love to you both.
I’m very sorry to hear about your nephew … for those who believe, he is now walking his own Camino.
My heart goes out to you both. We are so sorry to hear about Ryan. I didn’t know he had been ill. He was a special part of your family and will really be by family and friends. So nice that all your children were able to attend the memorial. I know they all missed your presence. Have a peaceful evening.
